Job Overview

Oversees the daily operational activities of a designated site within a specific business segment, setting and monitoring performance benchmarks and cost management strategies. This role is accountable for profit and loss (P&L) outcomes. Direct reports include Landfill Operations Managers and Supervisors, with a preference for candidates possessing landfill and waste management experience.


Key Responsibilities

1. **Operational Management**: Directs the daily functions of the district, providing essential support to Operations Managers to uphold safety, service quality, and cost efficiency.

2. **Safety Compliance**: Implements necessary measures to ensure adherence to company policies, OSHA regulations, and other relevant standards.

3. **Incident Investigation**: Conducts thorough investigations for all workplace injuries and incidents, ensuring follow-up coaching and retraining as needed.

4. **Personnel Oversight**: Manages staffing requirements, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Responsible for decisions regarding terminations, compensation, and promotions.

5. **Strategic Planning**: Collaborates with the Senior District Manager and/or Director of Disposal Operations to establish both short-term and long-term objectives and action plans.

6. **Financial Oversight**: Participates in regular reviews of profit and loss statements to ensure budget adherence; develops and implements strategies for optimal resource utilization, maintenance, and cost management.

7. **Community Engagement**: Engages with local governmental and municipal agencies to enhance customer satisfaction, improve operational efficiency, renew contracts, and negotiate new agreements, positioning the company as a responsible corporate entity.

Qualifications

The qualifications listed below are representative of the skills and experience necessary to perform this role:

A. Education and Experience

- **Education**: Associate's Degree (accredited) or a High School Diploma/GED (accredited) with two (2) years of relevant work experience.

- **Experience**: Minimum of four years in a supervisory role with P&L responsibilities.

B. Certifications and Licenses

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, maintained throughout employment.

C. Required Skills and Abilities

- Experience in at least two of the following areas: operations, customer service, community relations, health and safety, financial management, or human resources. Proven track record in supervisory or managerial roles, implementing safety programs, budget management, and resolving labor relations issues.

Work Environment

The expected salary range for this position is $130,000 – $145,000 annually. The specific salary offered may vary based on the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.

This position is also eligible for incentive compensation.
