OVERVIEW

The Indianapolis Airport Authority is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Guest Services Assistant. This position is pivotal in delivering exceptional service to travelers and guests, ensuring a positive experience at the airport.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver accurate information to travelers regarding flight schedules, airport facilities, accommodation options, transportation services, and retail offerings.
  • Handle incoming calls from multiple lines, providing timely and relevant responses to inquiries.
  • Utilize the public address system to relay important messages to passengers and staff.
  • Maintain a detailed log of message requests and their successful delivery.
  • Assist individuals with hearing impairments or those who communicate in languages other than English.
  • Identify and connect passengers with appropriate resources for their needs.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor that reflects positively on the airport and its services.
  • Provide courteous and effective customer care in all interactions.
  • Process payments for various airport services using a point-of-sale system.
  • Manage lost and found items, ensuring accurate documentation and returning items to their rightful owners.
  • Coordinate meeting room reservations and oversee payment collection.
  • Guide groups participating in airport programs.
  • Possess the ability to become a Notary Public in the State of Indiana.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, ensuring safety and compliance with all regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant experience that demonstrates the necessary skills for this role.
  • Proficient in standard office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is advantageous.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in the airline or hospitality sectors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to remain on feet for extended periods, as well as sit, stand, and walk as required.
  • Capable of performing tasks that require visual, auditory, and verbal communication.
  • Proficient in using office equipment and technology.
  • Ability to manage basic financial transactions.
  • Maintain focus and effectiveness in a dynamic environment with various distractions.
WORK SETTING
  • Positioned at the public service desk within the airport terminal.
  • Exposure to high-pressure situations may occur.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Adaptability to a busy and often distracting environment.
