Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

ResponsibilitiesAssessment
  • Conduct thorough multi-system assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and identify deviations from normal lab results.
  • Reassess patients throughout their hospital stay and perform complete discharge assessments.
Planning
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing plans of care that address patients' physical, emotional, and educational needs.
  • Coordinate patient care activities and discharge planning with other hospital departments and community agencies.
  • Delegate patient care activities to other healthcare providers based on patients' conditions and scope of practice.
Implementation
  • Initiate appropriate measures based on established protocols for managing medical and surgical patients.
  • Carry out physicians' plans of care and accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record.
  • Utilize a multidisciplinary approach to patient care and perform necessary procedures correctly.
Evaluation
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of assessment methods, care plans, and patient responses to treatment.
  • Participate in unit quality assurance activities to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Minimum one year of experience in Labor and Delivery within the last three years.
  • Nine months of RN experience in the last twelve months.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse License (Washington) within three months of hire or Compact License.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support required at hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous healthcare experience.
  • Minimum three plus years of recent experience in Labor and Delivery within the last two years.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
