Job Summary:

As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. Under general supervision, you will use your clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health problems, assessing, planning, directing, providing, and evaluating nursing care for patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform accurate multi-system assessments, including biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, education needs, and discharge planning needs.
  • Identify deviations from normal on routine lab diagnostic tests and reassess patients throughout their care.
  • Develop individualized nursing plans of care, taking into account the developmental needs of patients and coordinating care activities with other hospital and clinic departments and community agencies.
  • Delegate patient care activities appropriately based on patients' conditions and the scope of practice of other healthcare providers.
  • Classify the acuity level of assigned patients and initiate appropriate measures based on protocol for the management of medical and/or surgical nursing care.
Requirements:
  • Minimum one year of in Labor and Delivery experience in the last three years.
  • Nine months of RN experience in the last twelve months.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse License (Washington) within three months of hire or Compact License.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support required at hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous healthcare experience.
  • Minimum three plus years of recent experience in Labor and Delivery.
  • Minimum one year of high-risk labor and delivery experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
