Job Title: Fiber Optic Network Manager

At Zayo, we are seeking a highly skilled Fiber Optic Network Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Outside Plant (OSP) team, you will be responsible for the daily management of OSP vendors to expedite the splicing and testing of fiber optic OSP facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily OSP vendor activities to ensure timely completion of fiber optic projects.
  • Coordinate access to customer and network points of presence for fiber splicing and testing vendors.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of fiber connectivity solutions programs and projects.
  • Provide specialized telecommunications technical expertise to support project delivery.
  • Coordinate and facilitate with internal and external resources to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Oversee vendor compliance with OSP deliverables and ensure timely tracking of project progress and budget.
  • Execute bid process, inclusive of budgetary requirements and tracking thereof.
  • Verify and update project documentation, including budget requests, purchase orders, and project close-out.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in the telecommunications industry with outside plant, fiber optics, telecommunication architectures, optical transport equipment, and project management experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of familiarity with all types of outside plant construction and experience managing large capital projects.
  • Familiarity with Email, MS Excel, Word, Google Earth, and AutoCad.
  • Ability to manage multiple aggressive RFP and design construction schedules and responses.
  • Ability to understand and read construction and fiber splicing documents.
  • Familiarity with all facets of OSP management, including quoting, construction, troubleshooting, and delivery.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to drive as required to assigned projects.
