The Role

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer II to join our team in support of the JWAN Contract. As a key member of our PMO, you will work in a challenging, hands-on environment to design, implement, and maintain complex telecommunications and network infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities
  • Analyze, administer, and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
  • Responsible for tasks assigned by project managers in connection with service orders and repair activities related to Category 6 cabling, Voice over IP networks (VOIP), and fiber optic cabling infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement new and innovative principles, processes, and applications to improve network performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve complex network issues.
  • Design, install, and maintain voice and data communications systems.
  • Interpret service orders, circuit diagrams, and electrical schematics to ensure accurate installation and maintenance of network infrastructure.
  • Test, locate, install, and repair cabling infrastructure associated with trouble calls, and perform routine maintenance.
  • Verify work order information and receipt of all necessary equipment and information.
  • Verify service by testing installed cabling; identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
  • Document network by labeling and routing equipment and cables; recording configuration diagrams and specifications.
  • Maintain network by troubleshooting and repairing outages; testing network back-up procedures; updating documentation.
  • Identify, track, and remove abandoned cable, and keep cable neatly tied and bundled while maintaining safety standards.
Requirements
  • Minimum Clearance: A current and active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph.
  • At least three (3) years of demonstrated experience in the management and control of funds and resources using complex reporting mechanisms such as Earned Value Management.
  • At least five (5) years direct experience in managing multi-task contracts and subcontracts of various types and complexity, as well as experience in leading a multi-vendor environment.
