Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center. As a PICU Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill neonates through adolescents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, PICU CNS, Respiratory Therapists, Child Life, Social Work, Nutrition, and Discharge Case Managers to coordinate patient care.
  • Provide safe, therapeutic care to patients with complex needs, with assistance and supervision as needed.
  • Assist with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Requirements:

  • Two years of recent inpatient Pediatric Critical Care nursing experience, or two years of recent Adult Medical/Surgical/Neuro ICU nursing experience, or two years of recent Pediatric ED nursing experience.
  • Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California.
  • Active American Heart Association BLS Certification.
  • Active American Heart Association PALS Certification (within 6 months if transferring from an Adult Critical Care area).
  • The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of recent inpatient clinical RN experience in a medical surgical PICU.
