Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Distribution Engineer to join our team at Burns & McDonnell. This role will provide development and design services on 2.4kV to 34.5kV overhead and underground utility distribution projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide development and design services on utility distribution projects
  • Develop and design engineering deliverables for complex utility distribution projects
  • Interface with utility clients and collaborate with multiple offices
  • Prepare and develop distribution voltage construction packages for overhead and underground construction
  • Utilize field data and GIS information to aid in design
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
  • Perform work involving conventional engineering practices but may involve a variety of complex features
  • Coordinate departmental and divisional project studies and report preparation assignments
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program
  • Minimum 7 years distribution experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience), 4 or more years distribution experience preferred
  • Understanding of distribution power flow
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledgeable of telecommunications, renewable, and distribution generation integration, and advanced technologies a plus

Compensation Range

The expected compensation range for this position is $155,000 - $215,000. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
