Job Overview

PNC is seeking a highly skilled System Reliability Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability and reliability of our systems and software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and participate in the monitoring, maintenance, and support of systems and software to ensure stability and compliance with technology standards.
  • Perform maintenance tasks, including installation of patches and upgrades, and coordinate with delivery teams to ensure changes are implemented to maintain a stable production environment.
  • Identify and resolve incidents, analyze and identify root causes, and gather information and reports on design, reliability, maintenance problems, and bugs.
  • Monitor systems availability, performance, and capacity against baseline metrics and report trends. Implement methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for monitoring software reliability and resolving incidents.
  • Educate and coach junior staff to ensure in-depth knowledge of supported systems and applications.
  • Lead application governance, including required attestations, continuity testing, impact analysis, responding to audit/regulatory inquiries, and complying with technology standards.
Requirements
  • University/college degree, with 3+ years of relevant/direct industry experience. Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to determine root causes and create alternative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and coach junior staff.
  • Knowledge of IT service management principles, including incident management, problem management, and change management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
