This position is tailored for a seasoned professional ready to spearhead intricate projects in the design, evaluation, and commissioning of low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) electrical apparatus, particularly within the oil and gas and heavy industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional technical proficiency, leadership qualities, and the capability to guide junior engineers.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and direct multifaceted electrical power engineering initiatives with minimal supervision, showcasing robust leadership and technical expertise.
  • Formulate, assess, and endorse essential electrical power engineering outputs, including:
    • Single Line Diagrams
    • Electrical Load Calculations
    • Equipment Specifications and Data Sheets (Transformers, Switchgears, etc.)
    • Design of Motor Control Centers (MCC), Switchgear, and Power Distribution Networks
    • Cable Sizing and Routing
    • Design of Earthing and Lightning Protection Systems
    • Electrical Layout Designs (Substation Layout, Cable Tray Layout, etc.)
    • Hazardous Area Classifications and Selection of Explosion-Proof Equipment
    • Power System Analyses (Load Flow, Short Circuit, Motor Starting, Harmonic Analysis)
    • Relay Coordination Studies and Settings
  • Engage in critical assessments and reviews such as HAZOP, LOPA, and other risk evaluation processes.
  • Supervise the preparation, assessment, and management of electrical requisition documentation, technical bid evaluations, and vendor document assessments.
  • Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for sophisticated electrical systems.
  • Conduct and oversee thorough field surveys to document and evaluate existing conditions.
  • Facilitate expert collaboration with project teams, clients, and suppliers to address complex technical electrical power issues.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of pertinent experience in the oil and gas sector.
  • Extensive background in electrical power engineering, particularly with a focus on LV and MV systems.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical application of industry regulations and standards.
  • Proven expertise in troubleshooting wiring, fiber optics, and power design in the field.
  • Proficiency in electrical engineering simulation software such as SKM, ETAP, or equivalent.
  • Competence in the MS Office Suite.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States (US Citizen or Green Card holder).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Registration, or the ability to secure it within 12 months, is preferred.
