Job Summary

The Bowman Engineering and Consulting, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead multiple transportation and public works projects simultaneously. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing comprehensive scopes of work, including advance project development, preliminary engineering, final design, and construction phase services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project scope and validate with site visits as needed, preparing level of effort for required fee/budget and negotiating final fee with clients.
  • Coordinate with clients on project status and budget, directing the preparation of invoices, preparing associated progress reports, and approving invoices.
  • Manage and lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time status and delivery, within budget, and compliant with quality standards.
  • Determine and oversee staffing/resource requirements.
  • Work directly with clients and Bowman Engineering and Consulting, Inc. staff with varied levels of experience and expertise.
  • Develop and present communication plans, materials, and graphics for public interest meetings.
  • Ensure that projects adhere to all relevant industry standards, regulations, and engineering specification safety protocols.
  • Respond to construction administration engineering action items, including Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, and materials quality approval.
  • Conduct quality control audits, reviewing all designs originating from the Bowman Engineering and Consulting, Inc. - Houston office projects, ensuring accuracy and work product.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction and validate project delivery.
  • Attend pre-bid, construction, status update, and close-out meetings, answering questions and resolving design issues.
  • Assist with business development efforts, including proposal write-ups, industry meetings, and visiting existing/potential clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study required.
  • MS in Engineering desired.
  • 10+ years' experience in civil engineering design and management of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • 5+ years' experience in direct management/supervisor experience helpful.
  • Experience in hydraulics and hydrology engineering a plus.

Certifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired.
