Key Responsibilities- Compile and administer all aspects of payroll processing for approximately 200 employees on a bi-weekly basis.
- Verify hours in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for completeness and prepare for upload to ADP Workforce Now Essential Time.
- Analyze payroll data to ensure accuracy and correct any errors, including hours worked and pay adjustments.
- Communicate with cross-functional supervisors and managers regarding accuracy and completed time and attendance records.
- Input, review, and audit timekeeping and other payroll-related records.
- Review and submit bi-weekly payroll batches within the required deadline.
- Process court-ordered garnishments, including calculating deductions and responding to agencies and employees.
- Process final checks outside the typical bi-weekly payroll batch.
- Review reports and correct inconsistencies and/or out-of-balance situations, resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Respond to employee payroll questions and inquiries.
- Troubleshoot payroll processing system errors and work with the vendor to resolve.
- May assist with other accounting activities, including accounts payable and/or accounts receivable functions/tasks.
- High school diploma or General Education Development (GED).
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now and using ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong knowledge of California pay labor laws.
- Knowledge and ability to use ADP Workforce Now, Essential Time, and Attendance.
- Knowledge of general accounting practices.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to operate computers programmed with accounting software and/or Microsoft Office.
- Read and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to use mathematical methods or formulas to solve problems.
- Ability to take initiative and maintain confidentiality.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel calculations.
