Your Contribution to Moloco:

As a Senior Applied Scientist, you will play a vital role in the Moloco Commerce Media (MCM) team, which enables marketplaces to utilize recent advancements in AI to deliver personalized advertisements to relevant users, driven by first-party data.

The Data Science/Applied Science team is crucial in supporting MCM's expansion by facilitating the launch of new features through modeling, algorithmic development, and analytical excellence.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to enhance various components of our advertising technology stack, including ranking, retrieval, auction/bidding, and budget pacing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth analyses to inform R&D strategies: Analyze extensive datasets, extract valuable insights, and provide actionable recommendations for optimizing Moloco's intricate bidding system.
  • Design and implement advanced optimization strategies to enhance ad delivery: Identify optimal ranking, retrieval, and bidding techniques that balance ROI and revenue.
  • Establish metrics for product areas and guide decision-making with domain expertise: Improve performance monitoring of a complex advertising ecosystem by developing a robust metric framework and understanding causal relationships; support decisions through rigorous A/B testing.
  • Enhance machine learning models through improved data quality and insights: Validate and quantify performance improvements using advanced statistical methods.
Qualifications:
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to articulate product inquiries, utilizing large datasets and statistical methods to formulate recommendations.
  • Proven track record of managing projects from inception to completion, demonstrating attention to detail and the ability to translate analytical results into business insights.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively presenting information and analytical findings.
  • Extensive knowledge of experimental design, hypothesis testing, and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and familiarity with database languages (e.g., SQL) or data manipulation tools.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in data science or a related field, or an advanced degree in a quantitative discipline with at least 4 years of experience.
