Job Summary

AIS, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Marine Liaison Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our offshore operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of our marine surveys and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Marine Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between commercial fishing vessel representatives and our survey team, mitigating and documenting any interactions between our operations and commercial fishing activities.
  • Documentation: Accurately document date, time, and location of fishing vessel activity, fixed gear, and interactions with survey gear, as well as environmental conditions.
  • Communication: Respond effectively to fishing vessels in the vicinity of our operations via VHF radio or single side band radio, and communicate with the vessel captain, crew, and survey team as needed.
  • Protected Species Observation: Conduct protected species observation and serve as backup to the PSO monitoring team.
Requirements
  • Education and Training: Current STCW Basic Safety Training (BST), or GWO or BOSIET training completed within the last 2 years.
  • Certifications: Current CPR/First Aid certification, and a valid Passport.
  • Experience: Strong preference for candidates with experience working on commercial fishing vessels, and familiarity with handheld GPS, ships plotter, ship communications, and binoculars with reticules.
  • Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, and ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to live in confined quarters, tolerate stress, and vigilantly monitor waters surrounding the observation platform/vessel for up to 4 hours at a time.
