Job Summary

The Medical Assistant will serve as a vital link between our psychiatric providers, clients, and various organizations within the community. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete prior authorizations with insurance companies to ensure clients receive necessary medications.
  • Review and process refill requests from various sources, including clients and pharmacies.
  • Return phone calls from pharmacies to clarify questions regarding scripts, refills, and other inquiries.
  • Review laboratory test results and discuss any concerns with the psychiatric provider.
  • Communicate medication, behavioral, or primary health concerns to the psychiatric provider, guardian (as applicable), and client's therapist.
  • Document concerns in the client's chart and monitor as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with mental health therapists regarding behavioral health concerns and outcomes.
  • Ensure completion of appropriate documentation in all clients' charts.
Requirements
  • Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Two years of medical assistant experience, preferably in an outpatient clinic setting.
  • Ability to relate well to children, families, and other staff members.
Work Schedule

Monday through Friday: 12:30-4:30PM.
