Housing Intake Coordinator Job Description

At Columbia Housing Authority, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housing Intake Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for responding to inquiries regarding our public housing program, conducting outreach for the program, and reviewing applications to determine eligibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to inquiries regarding the public housing program
  • Conduct outreach for the program, including information on unit availability, application process, and eligibility guidelines
  • Review applications and determine eligibility of applicants under the Public Housing Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy (ACOP)
  • Coordinate orientation to the public housing program
  • Assist applicants with filling out applications as needed
  • Perform landlord reference checks, criminal background reviews, and income verification for the public housing program
  • Maintain the applicant waiting list and intake status report for affordable housing and Housing Choice Voucher in accordance with federal regulations
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in social service, business, or public administration preferred
  • Minimum of two years' experience and/or training in public administration, business, or general or property management preferred
  • Experience with computers and software systems
