Job Title: Lead EPC Planner

Volt Temporary Services is seeking a highly skilled Lead EPC Planner to join our team. As a key member of our engineering and construction team, you will be responsible for leading planning and scheduling analysis and control activities during the EPC phase.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor EPC schedules, identifying potential impacts and developing recovery plans.
  • Prepare and analyze EPC phase-related reports, including P6 schedule quality metrics.
  • Support EPC phase planning studies, forecasting, and project optimization.
  • Lead engineering teams in developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring seamless integration with the Integrated Master Control Schedule (IMCS).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate engineering activities into the IMCS, ensuring accurate and timely project delivery.
  • Facilitate cross-system and cross-project logic ties in the schedule, ensuring a cohesive project plan.
  • Assist in negotiating hand-offs between stakeholders regarding technical/engineering content and schedules.
  • Develop and organize engineering scope schedule fragments for planning/estimating and IMCS inclusion.
  • Provide oversight on fragment implementation to ensure standard application across the project.
  • Lead project-level integrated reviews of planned work, compiling three-week look-ahead activities for partners.
  • Review EPC phase work activities to ensure support of project milestones.
  • Review EPC phase schedule resource loading and leveling, as well as bulk commodity design and purchases.
  • Analyze critical path and constraints to determine the effect of progress changes on the schedule and recommend solutions to ensure baseline key milestones are achieved.
  • Develop What If Scenarios and recovery plans due to project activity slippage and change requests.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and at least 13 years of professional experience, or in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 19 years of professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of CPM scheduling and advanced experience with Primavera P6 software.
  • Experience in preparing, monitoring, and reporting schedule information in engineering, procurement, and construction environments.
  • Knowledge in the use of computers for executing work processes.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in using PC operating systems and Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated advanced capability level with Primavera (P6) and experience in its application on complex engineering and construction projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, perform, review, and present planning and scheduling products.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and review products independently with minimal supervision using a high level of professional judgment and knowledge related to technical planning and scheduling skills and engineering design and construction practices.
