Key Responsibilities

As an integral part of the Culinary Services team, the Assistant Kitchen Manager will be tasked with crafting wholesome, appealing, and visually pleasing meals for our residents while ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly, efficiently, and safely.
  • Evaluate menus and food preparation guidelines, preparing meals in accordance with established recipes and portion-control standards.
  • Supervise the preparation and arrangement of food service to ensure that nutritious meals are served attractively and on time.
  • Adhere to safe food handling protocols during meal preparation, including proper techniques for covering, labeling, dating, and storing food items.
  • Complete necessary logs promptly, including refrigerator, freezer, and production documentation.
  • Maintain high sanitation standards by cleaning work areas, including preparation and serving spaces, cookware, surfaces, and floors, following established cleaning schedules.
  • In the absence of the Executive Chef, manage the food service staff and oversee kitchen operations.
  • Prioritize resident satisfaction and address any food-related concerns as they arise.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as menu development, ordering, receiving, invoice processing, inventory management, and payroll as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the culinary industry or in a full-service restaurant environment.
  • Strong communication skills in English and exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Experience in mentoring and guiding team members.
  • Capability to prepare and adhere to recipes accurately.
  • General understanding of sanitation practices and safe food handling procedures.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
