Job Code: 240331 Salary Range: $68,000 to $75,000
Overview: EntreNous Youth Empowerment Services, Inc. is on the lookout for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant. This role will primarily focus on the preparation and management of the organization’s general ledger and associated financial records. The Accountant will report directly to the CFO and will be instrumental in generating monthly financial statements and facilitating the annual audit and 990 filing process.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong problem-solving ability, high ethical standards, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Independence and the ability to prioritize high-level responsibilities are essential. As EntreNous continues to expand, this position offers a significant opportunity to enhance operational efficiency and excellence within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the general ledger, ensuring the precision of financial documentation. Regularly analyze and reconcile G/L accounts.
  • Execute journal entries and manage the chart of accounts in collaboration with the CFO.
  • Account for departmental revenues, expenses, and all financial transactions.
  • Guarantee the accuracy of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Prepare invoices for reimbursement grants and funders monthly, working closely with the CFO and Fiscal Clerk.
  • Generate and maintain monthly financial reports for management and, as necessary, for the Board of Directors.
  • Assist in the development and ongoing evaluation of annual operating budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor cash flow and balances, performing all bank reconciliations.
  • Coordinate the annual audit process and the completion of Form 990.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of two years of professional accounting experience; CPA designation is preferred.
  • Experience within a nonprofit organization and familiarity with cost allocation across multiple funding sources.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with professionals at all organizational levels.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong alignment with the mission of EntreNous.
