Role Responsibilities

As a Turret Operator, you will:

  • Operate the turret efficiently, ensuring the proper transport of products and supplies in accordance with specifications.
  • Adhere to all safety standards while operating the forklift.
  • Perform all tasks safely, following established safety protocols and reporting any hazards immediately.
  • Conduct pre-shift OSHA inspections and complete necessary paperwork on the turret clean truck as per procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company standards.
  • Comply with all food service policies and procedures.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses as required.
  • Safely operate the turret, following all relevant forklift procedures.
  • Report any mechanical issues with the turret for timely repairs.
  • Retrieve finished products from production areas.
  • Stretch wrap all palletized loads and store them in designated warehouse areas.
  • Keep accurate inventory records of finished goods.
  • Transport cartons and pallets to the production area as needed.
  • Deliver special shipments from the production floor to the shipping department.
  • Maintain documentation for raw material and finished product movements.
  • Be responsible for refilling the propane tank on the tow motor.
  • Minimize waste of finished products.
  • Understand and implement fire prevention policies and procedures.
  • Achieve shipping goals established by management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma, GED, or relevant work experience.
  • One to three years of forklift driving experience.
  • The ability to pass forklift training.
  • A valid state driver's license and the capability to operate motorized vehicles.
Physical Requirements

The role involves:

  • Lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Pushing, reaching above shoulders, and using fingers.
  • Standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods.
  • Operating a forklift in narrow aisles or similar vehicles.
  • Maintaining visual acuity and depth perception.
  • Having adequate hearing ability.
