Job Responsibilities
As a Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN), your duties will include:
- Conducting patient assessments and developing individualized care plans.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
- Performing age-appropriate assessments upon patient arrival in the surgical suite.
- Assisting with patient care during anesthesia induction and preparing for local anesthesia.
- Maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment.
- Executing correct surgical preparations and accurately documenting patient care.
- Demonstrating proficiency in various surgical specialties and equipment.
- Participating in ongoing professional development and assisting in the orientation of new staff.
- Completing annual competency evaluations.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year as an Operating Room Registered Nurse in a hospital setting.
- Preferred: 1 year as a Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse.
Education:
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or Compact RN license (Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per healthcare policy.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification as required.
