Job Overview:

The Mental Health Associate will provide emotional support to patients with behavioral needs, while also performing basic patient care responsibilities. This role requires a strong understanding of psychological principles and the ability to work effectively with patients who may be experiencing emotional distress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients with behavioral needs
  • Perform basic patient care tasks, such as taking vital signs and assisting with bathing and grooming
  • Work under the direction of a registered nurse to provide care to patients on the unit
  • Assist in developing and implementing behavioral plans of care

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in mental health or patient care
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
