Job Summary: Mental Health Clinician
Location: East Elmhurst, NY
Contract Type: 3-months (High possibility of extension)
Hours per Week: 40 (Full time)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts comprehensive mental health evaluations, crisis intervention, assessments, and follow-up care to determine and coordinate disposition of patients for appropriate level of mental health care.
- Coordinates with Reentry Social Workers for effective discharge planning services, ensuring seamless transitions for patients.
- Collaborates with the Department of Correction to ensure access to patients, proper housing, and treatment disposition, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
- Coordinates patient care with other institutional programs, developing and leading group treatment on mental health observation units and other units as assigned.
- Completes all required documentation, participating in clinical supervision with Clinical Supervisor at least once a week to ensure high-quality care.
- Participates in mental health and medical rounds as assigned, staying up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends in the field.
- Participates in case conferences and treatment planning for patients receiving and being considered for mental health treatment, ensuring a comprehensive and patient-centered approach.
- Requires 1-3 years' experience as a Social Worker, with a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field, and New York State License in Social Work.
Additional Requirements:
- Work schedule: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm & 4:00 pm - 12:00 am.
- Hourly Pay: $56 - $60.
