Job Summary

Rutgers The State University is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Clinician II to join our team at Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare. As a senior mental health practitioner, you will provide lead functions for the program, including screening of intakes and referrals, care coordination, and ensuring completion of program-specific documentation and/or comprehensive assessment and therapeutic intervention for the psychological and social needs of child and adolescent (ages 3-17 years) and/or adult individuals served (18 and over).

Key Responsibilities
  • Contributes to and supports goals and objectives of the Unit and UBHC.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of University Behavioral Health Care's vision, mission, and values as they relate to service provision, daily activities, decisions, and quality improvement priorities.
  • Effectively contributes to and supports an environment that enhances the positive self-image of individuals served and their families and preserves their human dignity, right to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, and civil rights.
  • Actively and enthusiastically participates in ensuring the smooth functioning and operation of the program, and participates in UBHC-wide meetings, performance improvement activities, committees, and task forces as assigned.
  • Consistently ensures that individuals served, families, and system partners understand and adhere to procedures while at UBHC.
  • Assesses treatment needs and provides evidence-based treatment services and/or case management as clinically indicated to assigned individuals served (individuals, groups, and families) that is consistent with the service design and philosophy of the program and in accordance with accepted professional and ethical standards of UBHC.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in mental health discipline plus two (2) years post-Master's experience in the mental health field, including delivering psychotherapeutic services to the identified population, or a Doctorate Degree.
  • Independent license to practice as required by New Jersey state laws governing the discipline (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LCADC, Licensed Psychologist).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
