We are seeking a highly skilled Asset Protection Operations Coach to join our team at Walmart. As a key member of our asset protection team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective presentation of merchandise, driving sales, and leading and developing teams to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure effective merchandise presentation, including accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, inventory levels, and cleanliness of the area.
- Assess economic trends and community needs to drive sales and business growth.
- Oversee the stocking and rotation of merchandise, set up, clean, and organize product displays, and secure fragile and high-shrink merchandise.
- Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback.
- Communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction.
- Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring of associates, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, and providing associate recognition.
- Control the unexplained loss of merchandise and improve profitability by identifying and communicating performance goals and objectives, building accountability for policies and procedures, and measuring adherence to loss prevention policies and procedures.
- Detect, deter, investigate, and resolve violations of company policies and criminal activities by investigating alleged fraud and other alleged illegal activities.
- Monitor safety and risk controls within a facility by ensuring an effective safety program is in place, supervising safety team members, identifying accident trends, and developing and implementing solutions to prevent accidents.
- Manage facility-level training and execution of asset protection, safety, and claims and receiving procedures by reviewing the application of policies, procedures, compliance guidelines, and operational controls.
- Manage claims and receiving operations by ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed, ensuring the timely processing of claims and merchandise deliveries, and providing direction for claims or receiving issues.
- Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals and objectives, building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results, identifying and addressing improvement opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.
- Completion of 2 years of college.
- Option 2: 1 year's experience as a supervisor in a multi-department environment.
- Option 3: 1 year's experience in accounting, claims, inventory control, systems/UPC, personnel, or loss prevention/asset protection in a multi-department environment.
- Option 4: 2 years' experience in asset protection or related area.
- Successful completion of any applicable state requirements to work in asset protection.
- Acquisition of a current, state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
- Successful completion of criminal background check and/or firearms authorized training.
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- Certification in an asset protection-related field (for example, Loss Prevention Qualified, Loss Prevention Certified).
- General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports to include the responsibility of performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
- Investigative experience.
