Engagement with community members, healthcare professionals, and local organizations is essential, alongside leading the We Honor Veterans program and assisting the Regional Hospice Volunteer Coordinator in volunteer recruitment and management.


Responsibilities:


Formulates and executes outreach strategies targeting individuals, community partners, civic organizations, faith-based groups, and the broader community to promote awareness of Amedisys Hospice services.


Designs and carries out community engagement initiatives and events, including surveys, focus groups, public forums, town halls, workshops, parades, and charity drives.

Collaborates closely with the Regional Volunteer Coordinator and Business Development Liaisons to enhance community engagement efforts.

Communicates the organization's mission, programs, and activities effectively to the community.

Gathers feedback from community members and collects data on community needs to guide program development and enhancements.

Participates in regular ride-alongs with Hospice Liaisons to establish multifaceted relationships within the community with referral sources.

Oversees the We Honor Veterans program at hospice care centers.

Contributes to the creation of content for Amedisys internal publications that highlight community and volunteer activities.

Assists in volunteer recruitment and spearheads community relations events through various channels.

Prepares promotional materials (invitations, programs, flyers) for distribution.

Advocates for the organization's mission and services through diverse platforms, including local media.


Works in conjunction with the Volunteer Services team to devise a recruitment and retention strategy for marketing all volunteer opportunities and roles, which includes hosting and attending community recruitment events, assisting in the interview process for potential volunteers, and coordinating volunteers for community projects or events.

Partners with the Bereavement Corporate Assistant on planning memorial services at care centers.


May coordinate and facilitate community grief support offerings in collaboration with the Regional Bereavement Coordinator and local care center chaplain and social worker.


Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including compliance with the Amedisys Compliance Program.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:


Bachelor's degree in Communications, Social Work, Education, or a related field; alternatively, three (3+) years of experience in a relevant field may be considered.

Proficient in using computers, the internet, email, and social media.

Preferred:
Two (2+) years of experience in program navigation, development, or management.

Experience in volunteer services, community outreach, or event coordination.
