Job Title: Information Technology Infrastructure Engineer

Encore Talent Solutions is seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain Windows and Azure environments, including Domain Controllers, Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other critical services.
  • Administer, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, data protection, private/public cloud, networking equipment, access and environmental control systems, peripheral technology, monitoring systems, and communication systems.
  • Assist with datacenter networking and equipment configuration, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Implement and maintain data protection policies, adhering to defined data retention and recovery requirements using platforms such as Cohesity and Veeam.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot IT equipment, resolving incidents quickly to prevent outages or data loss.
  • Apply patches, firmware updates, and OS upgrades, following security best practices, to physical and virtual servers, storage resources, and other IT assets.
  • Assist with remote access technology design, deployment, securing, and lifecycle maintenance, ensuring authentication controls and security hardening.
  • Support and install physical networking environment components, such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Collaborate with the Applications team and vendors on application installation and updates, ensuring security and best practice requirements are met.
  • Provide proactive identification of system resource issues and planning for growth.
  • Assist with IT infrastructure project design, deployment, and maintenance, including storage, servers, virtualization, disaster recovery, email management, VOIP, encryption, vulnerability management, and patch management.
  • Ensure all design, deployment, configuration, and upgrades are completed with adequate testing, preparation, and support, creating and maintaining documentation throughout the process.
  • Ensure all scheduled operational and maintenance tasks are completed accurately and on time, documented properly.
  • Adhere to IT Department standards and Firm Information Security Policies, including change control and maintenance windows.
  • Assist with hardware decommissioning, ensuring data is wiped from all resources in preparation for proper recycling of e-waste.
  • Provide timely and relevant in-house escalation support, adhering to ticketing procedures and SLA requirements, applying troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a timely and effective manner.
  • Adhere to IT ITIL disciplines and processes, including ITSM, Incident Management, Change Management, and Problem Management.
  • Obtain, maintain, and apply knowledge of relevant areas, attending seminars, reading periodicals, and participating in outside organizations.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate teamwork, initiative, organizational skills, flexibility, dependability, and adherence to confidentiality standards.
  • Ability to physically lift 75 lbs for hardware installation.
  • Willingness to learn new and evolving technologies on the job and in formal education settings.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel to perform work in other offices and datacenter locations.
  • Ability to write reports, knowledge base articles, and short procedures.
  • Ability to work after hours when needed or an incident requires.
  • Ability to partake in an after-hours on-call rotation shared between other members of the infrastructure team.
  • Ability to travel to and occasionally work on-site in client data center locations, primarily South Central Ohio and on a more limited basis, Arizona.
Education and Experience:
  • Education, related training, experience, or IT certifications demonstrating ability to perform duties.
  • Experience with Microsoft Server, including Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and ADFS.
  • Experience with physical maintenance of hardware, throughout a typical hardware lifecycle, from implementation to destruction, with hardware from vendors such as Dell, Cisco, and HP.
  • Experience working with various storage technologies, such as Pure and Dell/EMC (Isilon) and IBM, as well as cloud storage such as Wasabi and Azure.
  • 5+ years of work experience in supporting IT infrastructure services.
  • Experience working with Exchange, Isilon, and VMware administration desired.
  • Familiarity with LAN/WAN technologies, including IP addressing, switches, FC Zoning, and wireless management (preferably Cisco).
  • Familiarity with data protection platforms, such as Cohesity and Veeam, desired.
  • Familiarity with Solar Winds desired.
  • Microsoft, VMware, and Cisco certifications desired.
  • Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Service Desk Plus.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Law Firm experience preferred.
