Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Alfred Benesch & Co. as a Roadway Project Engineer. This role will involve working on a variety of transportation projects, including planning, engineering design, and construction of transportation infrastructure for public agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates related to transportation projects.
  • Mentor and supervise the work of technical support personnel assigned to the project.
  • Collaborate with team members, communities, and stakeholders to define data needs, project requirements, and outputs.
  • Develop detailed designs of urban and rural roadways from preliminary to final design.
  • Support studies and alternative analysis to determine best solutions to meet compliance and client goals.
  • Work with various disciplines and reviewers to ensure complete, accurate, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Contribute to proposal development.
  • Manage small projects, project tasks, and assist Project Managers in overall large project delivery.
  • Manage and maintain project documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, or higher, is required.
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner.
  • Experience working with Local and State public agency clients (Public Works, DOTs, etc.).
  • Proficient with Microstation, OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and complex modeling design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Nebraska and/or South Dakota Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain upon hire (Preferred).
  • Project experience in transportation engineering design (Preferred).
  • Project experience in the design of collection and gravity flow storm and sanitary sewer systems (Preferred).
