Position Overview

The Family Support Counselor plays a crucial role in providing therapeutic interventions to families in need. This position involves managing a caseload of 4-6 families, ensuring each family receives tailored support and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized therapeutic treatment interventions for assigned families, continuously assessing their progress and needs.
  • Engage with families at least three times a week to foster a supportive environment.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations of client needs from a strengths-based, solution-focused perspective.
  • Provide crisis support to youth and families on a rotating on-call basis.
  • Collaborate with community partners, including educators and legal representatives, to support the youth's success.
  • Participate in three weekly meetings (individual, team, and clinical consultation) to enhance professional development and clinical skills.

Additional Information

  • The schedule is flexible and designed around the availability of the families served.
  • A valid driver's license, personal vehicle for work-related tasks, and auto insurance are required.
  • Community-based staff will receive reimbursement for applicable mileage.
  • This position offers opportunities to gain clinical licensure hours while working with young individuals.

Compensation

The annual salary for this position is $59,000, contingent upon educational background and clinical licensure.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in a social services discipline is preferred; however, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Acceptable degrees include social work, counseling, psychology, criminal justice, guidance counseling, or marriage and family therapy. Other degrees will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
  • At least one year of experience in counseling or case management is mandatory.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Basic computer proficiency is necessary.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is important.
