Overview

Gaudenzia is a leading nonprofit provider of treatment to individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders. We are seeking a dedicated Recovery Support Professional to join our team at our Kindred House Pregnant & Parenting Women's Program.

Responsibilities
  • Screen and process new admissions
  • Take head counts during hourly runs and document client movement in communication log
  • Screen clients' personal belongings upon entry to the facility and monitor client movement in and out of the facility
  • Maintain and monitor client sign-out book
  • Coordinate in-house activities based on the program's schedule
  • Maintain accurate daily census and report infractions and incidents to appropriate staff
  • Conduct client orientation sessions, seminars, and morning meetings as directed
  • Transport or assist clients traveling to and from medical and/or other appointments
  • Conduct and document room searches and perform random searches of clients as directed by program supervisor
  • Deny access to unauthorized persons
  • Supervise, where appropriate, clients taking their medications
  • Perform regular room checks to ensure clients are on floors or in their rooms per program schedule
  • Follow protocol for reporting unauthorized absences
  • Monitor urinalysis/drug screening and breathalyzers as instructed by supervisor on duty
  • Monitor daily program activities, including meals and medication line
  • Tour the facility at regular intervals to check building security and ensure there are no fire or safety hazards
  • Conduct fire drills and safety checks, including safety and security of the facility, checking fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and Narcan availability
  • Ensure vehicles are kept clean and complete weekly vehicle inspections
  • Ensure facility cleanliness and safety through regular inspection of sanitation procedures, including pest control, storage of supplies and clients' belongings, and submission of work orders for any needed repairs
  • Ensure property maintenance related to inclement weather, including shoveling, salting, and de-icing walkways and vehicles as directed
  • Complete written reports, documentation, and electronic incident reports as required
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients and aid them in adjusting to their specific problems
  • Basic knowledge of substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relations with staff, other agencies, and the public
  • Ability to successfully work with others from various cultures and backgrounds
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred
  • Ability to work various shifts
  • Basic computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Outlook for email, as well as Word and Excel
