Regional HR Director

Michael Foods, Inc. is a leading food processing and distribution company with a strong presence in the industry. We are seeking an experienced Regional HR Director to join our team and drive business results through innovative people practices.

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing business strategy through people management practices, strengthening our First in People culture, and leading/mentoring HR leaders. This role will actively drive business results by implementing innovative people practices in an ever-changing landscape.

The Regional HR Director will be a key contributor to the company's growth and performance through their leadership in creating and implementing people strategies that are built on a foundation of safety, quality, and on-time delivery to customers.

This role will also serve as a consultant to management on business opportunities related to people and act as an employee champion and change agent. The successful candidate will assess and anticipate HR-related needs, communicate needs proactively, and partner across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strengthen a first in people culture by utilizing tools from compensation, talent acquisition, legal, talent management, performance, and other areas to build a highly collaborative and customer-focused culture with highly engaged employees.
  • Mentor HR professionals across the business to become high-performing business partners.
  • Prepare communications on the why, what, when, and who of HR to business stakeholders.
  • Drive and manage career growth in collaboration with the Director of Talent Management through development goals, career tracks, and learning programs.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and coordination of policies, procedures, and programs supporting critical HR initiatives, including production hourly recruitment, retention strategy, hourly compensation, employee safety, and internal/external communication.
  • Understand the talent pool from the bottom up to proactively identify leadership and/or talent gaps, development opportunities, and internal mobility options.
  • Partner in the facilitation of succession management, high-potential retention, and closing the readiness gap.
  • Serve as a business partner to specific leaders in Supply Chain/Operations and Corporate leaders for all HR-related projects, processes, and employee relations concerns.
  • Effectively partner across the internal Post HR organization and with the PHI shared services to create and promote effective and efficient solutions.
  • Demonstrate and drive a sense of urgency in the execution of business plans while embracing transparency, empowerment, and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Ensure the right culture, processes, and measurements are in place to drive the actions required to deliver results.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic HR leadership roles, including time in a manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in written and verbal communication.
  • Prior experience with organizational design and workforce planning.
  • Ability to function at a strategic level and execute in a hands-on fashion.
  • Proven ability to translate company priorities into actionable HR items.
  • Experience and success in working with a matrix organization.
  • Highly effective communicator who can clearly and concisely articulate ideas, concepts, and proposals.
  • Project management skills, including M&A capabilities.
  • Financial acumen: must be capable of conducting quantitative analysis, with a proven ability to work with numbers and financial data.
  • Ability to travel 60% of the time.
