About the Role

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in our Acute Care Setting. Working under the clinical direction of a registered nurse (RN), the PCT performs a variety of delegated patient care services, utilizing their skills and training to meet the needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver patient care services in accordance with established protocols and procedures
  • Assist with vital sign measurements, medication administration, and other clinical tasks
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Participate in patient education and discharge planning

The Medical/Surgical Care Unit at Porter Hospital is a fast-paced environment with a high volume of patient turnover. Our team is committed to providing compassionate care to patients with a range of acuities and ailments, including those on chronic ventilators and requiring cardiac monitoring.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • BLS certification required
