Patient Service Representative

HealthLinc is seeking a dedicated Patient Service Representative to enhance our team. As a Patient Service Representative, you will play a vital role in managing patient interactions, which includes checking patients in and out, confirming insurance details, processing payments, and arranging future appointments. You will collaborate with fellow Patient Service Representatives and report directly to the Assistant Site Operations Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Welcome patients, staff, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
  • Manage patient scheduling and check-in/check-out processes
  • Confirm and update insurance information during each patient visit
  • Handle incoming calls, screening and directing them appropriately
  • Process payments, issue receipts, and maintain financial records
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers regarding patient prescription renewals
  • Register new patients in accordance with established policies
  • Conduct Automatic Eligibility Verifications
  • Follow up on voicemail inquiries and assist with appointment scheduling
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of HealthLinc Patient Resources
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives that align with Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) standards
  • Carry out additional assigned tasks as needed
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in healthcare administration (preferred)
  • Skills/Job Requirement: Exceptional customer service abilities, Strong written and verbal communication skills, Capacity to work effectively within a team, Basic math proficiency for payment processing, Excellent organizational and time management skills, Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment
  • Technology Skills: Competent in computer and software applications, Familiarity with multi-line telephone systems, and other office equipment
