Family Connections Program at JFCS

At Jewish Family and Children's Service (JFCS), we are seeking a skilled Relationships Specialist to join our Family Connections program. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families in need.

About the Position

This is a rewarding role that requires a compassionate and empathetic professional to work with families identified by the Department of Child Safety as requiring support in areas such as family functioning, social support, child well-being, parenting stress management, and family resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Home-Based and Community-Based Services: Provide home-based and community-based services in Maricopa & Pinal Counties to families referred by the Department of Child Safety to participate in the Family Connections program.
  • Training and Assessment: Attend in-depth training provided by DCS to help families identify strengths and areas of need, empower families toward solutions, and alleviate reasons for DCS involvement. Conduct assessments to understand family dynamics and needs.
  • Direct Service and Support: Provide direct service to program participants, including outreach and engagement, personalized service planning, tailored interventions based on assessment and service plan, coordination of care, and collaboration with DCS & other involved services.
  • Regular Home Visits: Conduct regular home visits once or twice per week at times convenient for the family, which may include evenings and weekends.
  • Safety Reporting: Observe children in the home once per week and report any suspected child abuse or neglect to DCS.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in social services or related field required.
  • Work Experience: One year of social-services work experience is required. Familiarity with the child welfare system strongly preferred.
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation is required. Ability to obtain and maintain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card without restriction(s). Valid Arizona Driver's License and auto insurance required.
