The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled System Safety Engineer to join our team. As a System Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our clients' systems and programs. This includes conducting hazard analyses, risk assessments, and developing safety plans to mitigate potential hazards.

You will work closely with our clients to understand their system safety needs and develop solutions to address those needs. You will also be responsible for reviewing and analyzing system safety documentation, including System Safety Program Plans (SSPP), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR).

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in system safety, including experience with MIL-STD-882 and other relevant safety standards. You will also have excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct hazard analyses and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop safety plans to mitigate those hazards
  • Review and analyze system safety documentation, including SSPP, PHA, and SAR
  • Develop and implement system safety plans and procedures
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their system safety needs and develop solutions to address those needs
  • Provide technical guidance and support to clients on system safety matters
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience with system safety, including experience with MIL-STD-882 and other relevant safety standards
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with NAVSEAINST 8020.6, Weapon System Explosives Safety Review Board (WSESRB), or Software Systems Safety Technical Review Panel (SSSTRP)
  • Experience with Digital Engineering, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, Software Development, Solid-state Electrical Circuit Design, Unmanned Systems Design, Human Factors Engineering, or Fault Tree Analysis
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Navy Principal for Safety (PFS), or Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification
Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
