Adolescent Recovery Support Specialist

Role Summary: The Peer Recovery Specialist is an individual who has personally navigated the challenges of addiction and recovery, offering tailored support and case management to adolescents affected by substance use issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Introduce new students to the institution's programs and regulations.
- Collaboratively create personalized recovery plans with students.
- Complete necessary documentation and administrative tasks.
- Engage in weekly team discussions, providing insights on student behavior, progress, and recovery status.
- Assist with student intake processes and follow-up evaluations.
- Ensure students are linked to essential external resources.
- Promptly communicate any concerns to the supervisor.
- Lead recovery process groups.
- Accompany students on educational trips during school hours and weekends as required.
- Offer continuous phone support throughout the year for enrolled students.
- Conduct urine screenings as part of the monitoring process.
- Transport youth using a company-provided vehicle.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Personal experience with addiction recovery, with at least three years of sustained abstinence if in recovery. A high school diploma is mandatory; an associate degree and NJ Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification are preferred.
Availability: Must be available for evening and weekend shifts.
Required Skills and Attributes: Candidates must demonstrate the necessary skills, knowledge, and personal attributes to fulfill the outlined responsibilities. Strong writing and computer proficiency are essential. Bilingual candidates are preferred.
Work Schedule: Full-time position requiring 35 hours per week.
