Caring Hands Group Home, LLC is seeking a Support Care Specialist to join their team in Roselle Park, New Jersey.



Job Description

The Support Care Specialist will provide direct services to individuals residing in the Residential Program, including supervision and/or assistance with personal care, daily living activities, recreational pursuits, transportation, medical appointments, and other needs as required.



Responsibilities:


  2. Participate in assigned training to ensure successful completion
  3. Complete required documentation for all services provided, including logs, charts, medication administration records, incident reports, and other assigned paperwork
  4. Drive and accompany individuals to appointments, recreation/leisure activities, or other destinations as assigned, adhering to motor vehicle laws
  5. Administer medication as prescribed by a healthcare professional
  6. Implement behavioral programs in accordance with individualized behavior plans
  7. Interact with individuals in an age-appropriate, respectful, and safe manner at all times
  8. Meet individuals' personal needs in a manner that ensures privacy and dignity
  9. Maintain confidentiality of individuals' information and records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines
  10. Comply with applicable Caring Hands and Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) policies and procedures, and DDD and Department of Human Services licensing requirements
  11. Cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation


Requirements:


  2. Must be at least 18 years of age
  3. Must have a valid driver's license in the state of New Jersey
  4. High School diploma or equivalency
  5. One year of related experience working with persons with disabilities preferred
  6. Must submit to a criminal background check and be determined not disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to hire
  7. Must agree to have name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities
  8. All employees hired after 6/15/18 must submit to drug testing prior to employment, and all employees must submit to random and cause-based drug testing
  9. All employees hired after 7/16/18 must complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI)


Salary and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $45,000, based on the location and requirements of the job.
