Job Details

Maxar Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Contractor Special Security Officer. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) in support of classified government contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and implement government security requirements in support of classified and commercial contracts.
  • Engage with Cognizant Security Authority (CSA) and the Government Contracting Authority (GCA) to ensure critical National Security Information (NSI) is protected in accordance with policy and expectations.
  • Provide development and oversight of all aspects of program security for collateral and SCI programs.
  • Support Maxar's overall program security posture to ensure compliance with corporate and government regulations.
  • Contribute to developing improved processes and protocols, and implement new ideas with security management.
  • Implement all aspects of a security program to include DD-254s, Security Operating Procedures (SOPs), security processes, security education and awareness programs, etc.
  • Safeguard and account for classified materials in accordance with the NISPOM.
  • Process incoming and outgoing classified visit requests.
  • Partner with cross-departmental management to coordinate security initiatives in line with the overall business strategy and an emerging perspective focusing on security.
  • Act in an Alternate COMSEC Custodian role.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with active Top Secret clearance and be willing and able to obtain SCI accesses and successfully pass a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of national security policies, to include (but not limited to): ICDs, NISPOM, Executive Orders, customer-specific directives and instructions, Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), etc.
  • Experience as an appointed Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) or Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) or Facility Security Officer (FSO).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor's degree; or three (3) years experience with a Master's degree; or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with National Industrial Security System (NISS), Defense Information System for Security (DISS), Scattered Castles, Security Information Management System (SIMS), and other security databases.
  • Understanding of the DD-254 process and management.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Current/active TS/SCI.
  • Experience as a COMSEC Custodian.

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. To accommodate all locations, we have listed the bottom to the top of the possible range, and will share the target range for a specific location during the recruiting discussion. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate's unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is: $66,000.00 to $141,000.00 annually.
