Surgical Technologist

As a Surgical Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in the operating room team, assisting surgeons and medical professionals during surgical procedures. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons and medical professionals during surgical procedures, preparing and maintaining the operating room environment.
- Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team, ensuring that all necessary equipment is available and functioning properly.
- Help maintain aseptic conditions in the operating room, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Assist with patient care during and after surgery, providing support and comfort to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient surgical procedures.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.
- One year of operating room or military equivalent experience in a scrub role within the last two years or recent completion of an operating room training program.
- Surgical Technologist Certificate within six months of hire from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or the National Center for Competency Testing.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to scrub all types of surgical cases except open heart.
- Weekend rotation and call required.
