About This Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer to join our Professional Engineering Consulting team. The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced team of professional engineers and designers who specialize in Energy Projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop mechanical design parameters, including design concept, engineering criteria, equipment specifications, equipment selections, code interpretations, and analysis as it pertains to the design of Energy Facilities.
  • Conduct piping arrangements and stress and strain analysis of pipeline facilities, including traps, regulator stations, measurement stations, and main-line block valve sites.
  • Develop equipment specifications based on project-specific design constraints for rotating and fixed equipment, such as pressure vessels, drums, and tanks, filters, mixers, strainers, separators, pumps, compressors, turbines, and knowledge of standard manufacturing methods.
  • Lead in the development of equipment and piping layouts for Compressor Stations, Pump Stations, Tank Terminals, and Truck Loading Facilities.
  • Independent review of project PPFDs and P&IDs.
  • Develop and maintain standardized internal procedures/methods/calculations for hot taps, stopples, etc.
  • Familiarity and experience in the application of the following codes/standards: Title 49 CFR Parts 190-199, 40 CFR 112, 40 CFR 264, ASME BPVC-VII Pressure Vessel, API 620, API 650, API 12C Tank Design, Piping Design Systems, ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, API 610 Pumps, Centrifugal pumps (1hp to 10,000 hp), API 674/675/676, Positive Displacement Pumps, API 682, Shaft Sealing Systems for Centrifugal and Rotary Pumps, Mechanical Seal Design Systems, API 520/521 Pressure Relief Devices, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8.
Requirements
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Texas (preferred).
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in the following software/programs: CAESAR II, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in midstream energy or petrochemical sector.
