Job Summary:

The Administrative Support Specialist will provide critical support to the Human Resources team at HCSC, ensuring the smooth operation of various HR functions. This role will be responsible for preparing and posting job openings, screening applications, and administering pre-employment testing. The successful candidate will also facilitate new employee orientation, assist employees with benefits and leaves, and coordinate company activities and drives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post job openings internally and externally, including coordinating newspaper advertisements and screening applications for completeness.
  • Administer pre-employment testing, schedule interviews, and code applications for forwarding to the Home Office.
  • Facilitate new employee orientation, providing necessary information and documentation to the Home Office in a timely manner.
  • Assist employees with benefits, including health, dental, and life insurance, as well as leaves of absence.
  • Coordinate company activities, drives, and special promotions, including communicating events and scheduling appointments.
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, composing reports, and responding to inquiries.
  • Sort and distribute documents, track and verify temporary agency services, and maintain attendance records.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, management, and customers, and maintain confidentiality of company business.
  • Perform special projects as required or requested.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of office experience.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask.
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
  • PC proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of federal and state laws concerning employment practices.
