Position Title: Recreation Leader
Organization: City of Hermosa Beach
The Recreation Leader role is a part-time opportunity within the Community Resources Department at the City of Hermosa Beach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute various cleaning tasks and arrange or dismantle equipment for facility users based on provided diagrams or verbal instructions.
- Regularly check in with facility users and provide assistance as necessary.
- Maintain a secure environment by overseeing facility usage.
- Open, close, and secure various facilities throughout the City.
- Submit maintenance requests to administrative personnel when needed.
- Acquire supplies as instructed.
- Display necessary signage, including reservation and no parking notices, across the City.
- Manage class registrations and memberships using recreation management software.
- Communicate all relevant information regarding after-hours activities to administrative staff.
- Assist with Department Special Events.
- Oversee activities at the Skate Park while enforcing established rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess a High School Diploma, and hold a valid Driver's License.
Required Skills:
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal oversight.
- Provide exceptional customer service and effectively address public inquiries and complaints.
- Manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Perform well in high-pressure situations.
- Function effectively in a dynamic environment with frequent interruptions.
- Collaborate successfully within a team.
- Exhibit self-motivation.
- Resolve issues and make informed decisions.
Additional Information:
Physical Requirements: The position involves frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds, carrying, prolonged standing, bending, and reaching. The ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions is essential.
