Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Oswego Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages, from newborns to geriatrics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform respiratory diagnostic testing and care, including oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, and respiratory medications.
  • Consult with physicians and other healthcare staff to develop and modify individual patient care plans.
  • Provide complex therapy requiring independent judgment, such as caring for patients on life support in the Intensive Care Unit.
  • Teach patients how to use medications and equipment.
  • Perform regular checks on patients and equipment.
  • Assist in using and updating evidence-based therapies and protocols to treat a wide variety of patients.
Requirements
  • Current NYS Licensed Respiratory Therapist required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • One year or more previous hospital experience, or in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • On-site orientation is approximately 4 weeks.
  • ACLS and PALS certification required within 1 year of hire.
