Job Summary

To provide high-quality respiratory care interventions, under physician direction, to treat cardio-pulmonary and related disorders. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective patient care plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • CARDIO-PULMONARY RESUSCITATION: Provide basic and advanced cardiac life support interventions, including airway management, chest compressions, and diagnostic measurements.
  • CRITICAL CARE: Manage life-support equipment, perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic testing, and develop patient care plans in collaboration with nursing and medical staff.
  • THERAPEUTIC PROCEDURES: Perform respiratory therapeutic interventions, assess patient status, and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy.
  • DIAGNOSTIC MONITORING: Obtain information on patient status through diagnostic monitoring, interpret data, and integrate results into patient treatment plans.
  • EQUIPMENT & SUPPLIES: Ensure equipment and supplies are available for patient care, process equipment for maintenance, and report equipment malfunctions.
  • HEALTH PROMOTION: Educate patients and families on therapies and strategies to promote respiratory health, collaborate with discharge planning, and provide outpatient educational interventions.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program.
  • License, Certification, Registration: Respiratory Therapist Certificate or Registered Respiratory Therapist Certificate from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support: Required at hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support: Required within 2 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support: Required at hire.
