Job Title: Heavy Equipment Technician

Reports To: Operations Manager

Job Type: Full-Time, non-exempt

Compensation: $22-26/hr., based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment including material handlers, skid steers, forklifts, and more.
  • Diagnose and repair all types of diesel and gas engine machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair heavy machinery (forklifts, skid steers, etc.).
  • Repair, replace, recondition, disassemble, weld, and examine parts and engines.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
  • Conduct diagnostic testing and analyze the findings of those tests.
  • Test drive vehicles to evaluate their performance.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on forklifts and skid steers.
  • Keep detailed records of all vehicle services.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
  • Adhere to all company safety measures and government regulations.
  • Communicate professionally with colleagues and supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of mechanic experience.
  • Must have your own set of tools.
  • Commercial Driver's License.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (over 50 pounds).
  • Ability to squat, kneel, bend, and twist as needed.
  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time.
