Job Summary

Metalico is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy equipment, including forklifts and skid steers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on forklifts, skid steers, and other heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair complex issues with heavy equipment, including diesel and gas engine machines.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory of tools, parts, and supplies to ensure efficient equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and testing to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality control checks on equipment to ensure it meets company standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless equipment maintenance and repair operations.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to lift and move heavy objects, and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications: Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
