Job Overview

Benshaw Inc. is looking for a dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.


Position Summary:

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of both in-process and finished components and assemblies. This position involves documenting and analyzing inspection results to ensure adherence to company, regulatory, and UL standards.

Our QA Technicians play a vital role in confirming that all quality control procedures established by the company are diligently followed throughout every stage of production.

In addition to performing physical inspections, the QA Technician will contribute to the execution of Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, including but not limited to Value Stream Mapping, 6S methodologies, Torque Monitoring, and Terminal Crimping Analysis.

As part of CI projects, the QA Technician may be tasked with developing project plans for assigned initiatives and delivering presentations to various stakeholders, including colleagues, management, vendors, and customers.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections of in-process manufacturing and outgoing components.
  • Assist in the implementation of Continuous Improvement Projects.
  • Develop project plans for assigned Continuous Improvement initiatives and deliver necessary presentations.
  • Collaborate with operational departments to propose and implement process enhancements aimed at improving product quality based on First Pass Yield (FPY) results.
  • Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Draft procedures and collaborate with operational teams for implementation.
  • Assist in validating or troubleshooting testing methods, including assays.
  • Interpret engineering drawings effectively.
  • Analyze complex issues and present findings using PowerPoint or other software.

Required Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of experience in wiring, assembly, or testing/troubleshooting of drives, soft starters, sub-assemblies, and/or various components in a panel shop environment. Experience in a 508 UL Panel Shop is highly preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; an Associate's degree in Electronics or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electronic panels and assemblies down to the component level.
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows, Word, Access, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Dependable with a willingness to work overtime and a clean attendance record.
  • At least 2 years of experience in testing and troubleshooting complex electronic assemblies.
