Work Arrangement: Primarily remote with occasional in-office presence required

Training: Initial orientation will be conducted in-office, followed by remote training sessions with limited in-office attendance.
Role Purpose: The Quality Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting various quality initiatives. This position collaborates with multiple stakeholders within the organization. Responsibilities include conducting quality assessments, compiling performance metrics, identifying opportunities for clinical and process enhancements, contributing to improvement initiatives, and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interprets accreditation standards and oversees internal actions to ensure compliance; relevant accreditations may include specialty pharmacy, rare disease management, home infusion services, and DMEPOS.
- Facilitates the organization’s readiness for accreditation assessments; liaises with surveyors; monitors progress and outstanding requirements; ensures timely submission of necessary documentation; coordinates staff interviews as needed.
- Reviews clinical documentation and performs quality assessments.
- Ensures completion of deviation reports and monitors the progress and effectiveness of corrective action plans.
- Collects, validates, analyzes, and interprets quality data to identify performance trends and opportunities for clinical and process improvements to enhance service quality.
- Actively supports internal quality improvement initiatives and seeks out additional quality enhancement opportunities.
- Collaborates with various departments to ensure adherence to accreditation standards and achievement of quality program objectives.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of accreditation standards throughout the accreditation cycle.
- Assists in the organization’s preparation for quality and regulatory audits conducted by external entities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare quality role focusing on accreditations and quality projects with proven success.
- Strong self-direction and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comprehensive understanding of quality improvement and performance management principles.
- Effective communication skills, presenting information clearly and logically.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions.
- Skilled in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting operational metrics.
- Highly organized with strong follow-through capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, adjusting priorities as necessary to meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and various software applications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related healthcare field.
- Certification as a Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
