Position Summary

This management role will support both new and existing Compass Group accounts within educational environments, requiring travel that may include overnight stays. Candidates should be open to relocation.

As a Facilities Operations Manager, you will oversee the cleanliness, sanitation, and security of designated facilities. You will coordinate the activities of janitorial staff, ensuring high standards of service and customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities will include assigning tasks, inspecting completed work, and addressing any complaints regarding janitorial services, taking prompt corrective measures as necessary. You will ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and operational, and manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate communication across shifts to ensure task completion.
  • Train staff in cleaning techniques and equipment operation.
  • Distribute supplies and equipment to ensure timely service delivery.
  • Conduct daily inspections and monitor assignments for completion.
  • Cross-train personnel for various roles.
  • Hold weekly meetings to discuss task progress and upcoming projects.
  • Secure the facility upon completion of work.
  • Guide project completion to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Report any budgetary concerns.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred college degree.
  • One to two years of supervisory experience in a service-related field with significant customer interaction.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality and customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities in both individual and group settings.
  • Ability to motivate and engage staff effectively.
  • Understanding of budgeting and profit/loss awareness.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Experience with heavy cleaning equipment.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
