POSITION SUMMARY:

In the role of Field Survey Specialist, you will play a vital part in supporting field operations across various marine and railroad project sites for Russell Marine, LLC.

Your primary responsibilities will include surveying and measuring points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours essential for the construction or rehabilitation of marine terminals, dock facilities, and railroad bridges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Export and analyze IFC drawings and field layout data, providing detailed reports and updates on potential conflicts.
  • Conduct topographic and construction surveys for site/building locations, documenting pre-existing site conditions while establishing new control points relevant to the project scope.
  • Survey and confirm the location and elevation of concrete foundations, footings, columns, caps, anchor bolts, and other structures to ensure precision during installation.
  • Perform daily inspections of survey equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Verify the accuracy of all material dimensions and quantities upon arrival at the project site.
  • Review the 2D/3D CAD Model scope of work.
  • Execute basic and advanced field calculations for all aspects of survey work.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, construction teams, and government agencies to facilitate project success.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Survey Manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certifications: Must possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or be willing/eligible to obtain one upon hire. Valid Driver's License is required.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of field surveying experience in the construction sector.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

  • In-depth knowledge of land surveying principles and practices.
  • General understanding of compliance and regulations pertinent to the project.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English to effectively convey information and respond to inquiries from managers, clients, and customers.
  • Ability to generate status reports and perform accurate calculations for analytical field reports.
  • Proficient in identifying complex problems, developing and evaluating options, and implementing effective solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Adult First Aid with CPR and AED. Licensure by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). Project Management Professional (PMP).

Experience:

  • Field surveying experience in marine construction is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

  • Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations relevant to the project specifics.

WORKING CONDITIONS: The individual must be capable of performing essential job functions with or without reasonable workplace accommodation. This includes the ability to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in required areas.

The role may involve working near moving mechanical parts and requires adaptability to temperature changes, outdoor conditions, and prolonged exposure to dusty, wet, or humid environments, loud noises, and vibrations.

Long hours and/or weekend work may be necessary, along with potential out-of-town or overnight travel. The individual may occasionally need to sit in a vehicle for extended periods.

Specific vision abilities, such as close vision and color vision, are required. The role may also necessitate walking, climbing, or moving between job site locations with varying heights and access parameters.

Regular attendance and punctuality are essential. Employment at Russell Marine, LLC is on an "at-will" basis, and there is no contract of employment unless explicitly stated otherwise.
